·        Commissioners Report:

-         Phil said that presently we have 64 players in the Coastal Division and 59 players in the Atlantic Division.

-         Phil met with Mr. Lewis of the New Hanover County Parks Dept.

-         Managers if you don’t have a strike mat, see Phil.

-         Phil has been informed that we aren’t following the format for the local

Senior games. He will implement correct procedure next year, which will possibly involve having nine teams within the different age limits.

-         A suggestion has been made for next year that due to the severe heat in July and August that each team will play one doubleheader a week and all games will be played at Empie Park. Ballots will be sent out to all players for league  response.

-   Next year with the anticipated growth we may need to look at playing on

other days than Tuesdays and Thursday due to the lack of fields.

Also we need to let our elected officials know about our concerns of the lack of facilities by writing letters to them and the newspapers.

-         A motion was made by Phil Rose and seconded by Joe Seme that:

Any player who reaches the age of 65 before August 1, will automatically move to the Coastal Division. Motion was approved by a 5-4 vote.

-         During the discussion on the motion, it was mentioned that:

1)     we need equal representation on the board from both divisions before

considering a motion such as this one due to its effects on just one

               division.

2)    if forced to move up, will the players play or quit. General consensus QUIT

3)     We need to amend the motion by putting in a grandfather clause that  will exempt the present players affected in the Atlantic Division.

-         John Keane made an amendment to the motion that a grandfather clause be added to the motion that will exempt the current players from the motion. Joe Seme seconded the amendment.  Amendment was approved 9-0.

-         Motion with the amendment now reads:

Any players who reach the age of 65 before August 1 will automatically move to the Coastal Division but a grandfather clause will exempt any players in this age bracket who are currently playing in the Atlantic Division.
