Commissioner’s Report
Fields – There will be no Wednesday games in 2008. This year the Robert Strange Park will be used and located at 8th and Nun Street near the King Center...

Schedule for 2008 – The season will open on Tuesday, April 1st and there will be a summer break between July 1 and 14.

Mid-Season Players – A player starting in the middle of the season is to be exposed to all teams in their respective division and assigned following agreement by team managers.

Raleigh State Teams – This year there will be only one team in each age division playing at the State Games.

Rules – Phil reviewed a variety of playing rules: over running a base, duel first base, re-entry of players, substitute runners for players with hip or knee replacements, duel home plat and commitment. Team managers should make the rules available to all players.

Rick Mongero suggested using a pitching screen to cut down on injuries to pitchers. The Board is to take the suggestion under advisement along with the 1 hr and 15 minutes rule on times limits, and home runs which in some games of the Atlantic Division have been excessive.

Old Business – None

New Business -
Dwight Crainshaw suggested restructuring the league so as to allow a president for each division, the Atlantic Division and the Coastal Division.
Harry Rowe felt that the present format of a league representative for each division could work provided the responsibilities of the league reps be re-written and followed.
Phil Kaufman suggested that each division have a commissioner rather than a president although with duties somewhat as Dwight suggested.
Further discussion was tabled. The Board of Directors is to take suggestions of restructuring under advisement.

Golf Tournament – Jim Kelly is willing to put together a golf tournament in the format of a fund raiser in support of a National Team.

Election of Officers
Joe Seme agreed to serve another two year term as president and was elected by acclamation.

George Wesoloski agreed to serve another two year term as secretary and also was elected by acclamation.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 12:15 PM. A soap and sandwich buffet was available following the meeting for $6.00.

Respectfully,

George Wesoloski, Secretary
