MEMBERSHIPS

New members are always welcome to join and participate in league activities. Every effort is made to place new members on teams that have a need for their talents. Remember, "We don't stop playing, because we grow old; we grow old  because we stop playing".

Your never too old for softball. It is practically a year round activity in Wilmington.  Neither the time of the year nor a person's age should be determining factors for playing what has become America's most popular participatory sport. We have two age divisions, 53 to 62 and 62 and older.  Contact  Commissioner Phil Rose at 791-0852 or email at: prose1103@bellsouth.net. 

In order to be eligible for Wilmington Senior Softball, we must be 53 years old by December 31st of the year that you play in.  In order to be eligible for the NC State Tournament, you must attain the age of 55. Upon request, each person must provide proof of age via written documents (e.g. drivers license, passport etc.)

In addition, each person shall pay any duly authorized Association fees or charges for seasonal softball play, and sign a waiver form releasing the Association, its Board of Directors, representatives, members, and managers  from any claims due to injuries or death.  No person will be deemed an Association member or allowed to participate in any Association softball game or practice until all fees and/or charges are paid in full and the signed waiver form is received by the Secretary. The applicant must be accepted by the W.S.S.A. Board of Officers, which shall have sole undisputed and final authority to accept or reject an applicant. Membership will be on an annual basis.

1. Each player is expected to conduct himself, both on and off the field in a positive manner.
2. Abide by the rules of the league to the best of his ability
3. Be willing to assist in performing suitable duties assigned in connection with the operation of league activities
4. Accepting decisions of the team manager and umpires in good sportsmanship
5. Never directing abusive or profane language at officials or opponents 

    There will be an annual meeting of all members of the Association at least once a year in January or February.
